N.C. Commerce Department lands federal grant to support job-training efforts

The Triangle Business Journal reports that The North Carolina Commerce Department has received a $5.25 million federal grant that will aid a statewide effort to match job seekers with employers in high-demand occupations. As part of its new NCWorks Certified Career Pathways program, Commerce Department has local and regional teams spread across the state that meet with employers to find out what they’re looking for when they make a new hire.
