Success Story: Charlene Washington

Success Stories

A New Beginning

Charlene started her journey with NCWorks Adult and Dislocated Worker (ADW) Services after seeing an advertisement for NCWorks offering unemployed constituents assistance in job training to further their career. Charlene was unemployed for some time and came to the NCWorks Career Center in Greensboro to inquire about CDL training and education.

Charlene shared that she was happy she came to NCWorks for assistance and credits all the career coaches for helping her and making her feel welcome. In addition to case management and moral support, the NCWorks ADW program was also able to fund some of her education. She attended Guilford Technical Community College to complete her class A CDL license and obtained a certificate of completion from Truck Driving School. Charlene is currently working with a Business Services Representative to obtain a steady job and is excited to excel in her new career.
