Success Story

“Motivated to Excel”

Deanna Phillips decided to choose a career in the automotive industry, a field where traditionally few women have worked.

She was a student at Weaver Academy and participated in a work experience at Carolina Thomas to apply the skills she learned in class. Later she enrolled at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) and earned an Auto Body Certification.  Deanne is currently pursuing her Associates Degree at GTCC and will complete in 2016. While pursuing her degree she is currently working at the Greensboro Auto Auction and is enjoying the experience she is gaining as an auto body technician. This is only the beginning for Deanna and she is looking forward to much success in the future.
