Meet Our Board Members

Brian Maas is a Vice-President, an Environmental Principal and the Director of Business Development for the Greensboro and Clemmons offices of ECS Southeast, LLP (ECS). He helped open the Greensboro office of ECS 26 years ago, in March 1996. Mr. Maas has worked in the environmental consulting and engineering services industry for almost 33 years. In his current role, he handles business development, project scoping, proposal development and technical oversight for various environmental projects, as well as recruiting and hiring for ECS Southeast. Mr. Maas also supports our geotechnical engineering,
construction materials testing and facilities engineering divisions for ECS, as needed.

Mr. Maas’ work experience includes environmental assessments, Brownfields redevelopment for real estate and construction projects, asbestos, mold and lead-based paint inspections, abatement design,n and air monitoring services. Project sites have included commercial, industrial, urban/mixed-use, healthcare/hospitals, higher education, K-12 public and private schools, municipal, transportation and residential. Mr.Maas is a Registered Environmental Manager, an Asbestos Inspector, an Asbestos Management Planner, an Asbestos Project Abatement Designer, a certified Mold Remediator, and a Vice-President of ECS.

Mr. Maas has worked in the engineering, environmental services and construction services sector for more than 33 years. He has recruited and hired talented professionals and technicians, even entry-level high school graduates looking to start employment as engineering technicians and various construction trades. Mr. Maas has participated in recruiting events at high schools, community colleges and universities across the state and Southeast region.

In summary, Mr. Maas is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for GuilfordWorks to assist with workforce development in Guilford County. If approved, Mr. Maas is ready to work to serve on the Board of Directors for GuilfordWorks and work on a critical issue for helping our community grow over the upcoming years.

As an appointed WDB Member, Robert would serve as a private sector representative; representing the trades industry.
