Meet the Staff

Dr. Danielle Harrison

Dr. Danielle Harrison

Executive Director

Dr. Harrison has served in workforce development environments for over 15 years. As a supervisor of programs with the Department of Corrections, she established work release contracts for offenders. As an educator, Dr. Harrison has served as a training manager for a local government agency, taught career-oriented curricula at career-technical institutions, and coordinated internships at both two-year and four-year higher education institutions.

Danielle earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Guilford Technical Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice (with a minor in psychology) from Guilford College, a Master’s Degree in Adult Education from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, and a Doctoral Degree in Education from Northcentral University.

Fred Henry Jr.

Fred Henry Jr.

Assistant Director of External Affairs

Fred Henry Jr. has more than 20 years of experience in workforce development in various areas, including employment services, career counseling, programs, and business engagement.

A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Fred attended public school in Forsyth County before enrolling in North Carolina A&T State University. There, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Student Personnel/Human Resources Business Industry. Most recently, Fred received the professional designation of a Certified Workforce Developer from the National Association of Workforce Boards through NC State University’s Institute for Emerging Issues (IEI) and the NC Workforce Development Leadership Initiative.

Fred is a workforce development professional, passionate about serving this community and seeing the citizens of this state prosper. In 2011, he received the City of Greensboro’s “2010 Employee of the Year for Core Values.” He enjoys building relationships through his workforce and economic development endeavors. Fred is also the proud father of a 10th grader, Fred C. Henry III, better known as “Tre.”

Executive Assistant

Syretha loves meeting new people, building new friendships and relationships, and prides herself in assisting others.

Syretha earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, From Rutledge Community College and has honed her skills during her nine years with the City of Greensboro in several departments. Whether during her time in Engineering and Inspections, Property Management, or the City Attorney’s Office, she has always strived to be the best candidate for the job. Now, Workforce Development grants her an excellent opportunity to showcase her expertise.

Joyce Rice

Joyce Rice

Business Services Consultant

Joyce’s background is rooted in business development and consultative services in both the financial and merchant services industry. Her core strengths and passion are relationship management and strategic planning.

David Szwejbka

David Szwejbka

Business Services Consultant

David brings a diversified background in management, account management, career advising, B2B development, and workforce development. He firmly believes in everyone having opportunities and providing the proper resources to individuals and employers. David’s industry sectors include Skilled Trades, Transportation and Logistics, Construction, and Advanced Manufacturing. Being an ACT Authorized Job Profiler, David has additional resources to help employers locate the best candidate for specific roles or find and keep individuals for those “hard to fill” positions.

Marketing & Communications Director

Tim spent over 30 years working in the private sector, helping clients resolve their marketing and communications issues with strategic solutions. He finds his work at GuilfordWorks gratifying, knowing that it can have a lasting impact on the members of this community.

Jessica Clemons

Jessica Clemons

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Jessica’s experience is in public relations, communications, and social media management. Transitioning from California, she enjoys working with the community and is passionate about helping build a more skilled workforce with GuilfordWorks.

Special Projects and Quality Manager

Anthony has engaged in workforce development in various capacities for 15 years, serving the public. Transitioning from Indiana, he has advocated for economic opportunity and innovation for those in need. He believes that GuilfordWorks they can add value to others and encourage others to add value to the community.

Anthony Camacho

Anthony Camacho

Accountability Specialist

Anthony is a public servant at heart, passionate about reaching under-served and under-utilized populations. Anthony began a career in criminal justice with the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention in 2017, working with juveniles in the state’s custody. Transitioning to Workforce Development in 2022, Anthony provides oversight and monitoring for our workforce development program, ensuring the integrity and validity of our services. Anthony also leads the LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group for the City of Greensboro and volunteers outside of work hours to provide services to LGBTQ+ youth in Greensboro.

Toshiba Sanyang

Toshiba Sanyang

CAREER Connections Program Coordinator

Toshiba joined the GuilfordWorks team in April 2022 and was named the GuilfordWorks’ CAREER Connections Program Coordinator in June 2023. Toshiba has served various roles in the Department of Health and Human Services in both Wisconsin and North Carolina. With expertise in human-centered case management, learning and development, and program integrity and quality assurance, Toshiba brings a wealth of experience. This role allows her to cultivate meaningful relationships with both internal and external partners.

CAREER Connections Community Resource Navigator

Jacqueline “Jacqui” is the Community Resource Navigator for GuilfordWorks’ CAREER Connections. She maintains contracts and liaises with partner agencies and employers in this role. She ensures transparency and success of events and partnerships, increasing the capacity for effective workforce programming partnerships in Guilford County. Jacqui received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She enjoys participating in music and theatre arts when she is not working.

Deregaryl “D” Covington

Deregaryl “D” Covington

CAREER Navigator

Deregaryl “D” Covington was raised in Durham, North Carolina and moved to Greensboro to attend ”The” North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. After graduating, he decided to remain in Greensboro and pursue a professional career. “D” has always connected with those society overlooks, which was instilled in him by his parents. He turned those life lessons into a mission of serving others. He is currently a CAREER Navigator, assisting those desiring to create better lives for themselves and their families. By going out and engaging them in the community, they provide training, job support, and barrier support services.

Brandice Diaz

CAREER Navigator

Brandice is a CAREER Navigator for the GuilfordWorks’ CAREER Connections team and is passionate about supporting those in need. She is a New York native with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Brandice has been managing cases for more than 11 years and is a mental health advocate, volunteering with mental health organizations to support those in the community with questions and concerns about mental health.

Christian J. Moorer

CAREER Navigator

Christian is a CAREER Navigator with the GuilfordWorks’ CAREER Connections team. Originally from Charleston, SC, Christian transitioned to North Carolina to attend North Carolina A&T State University, earning a BA in liberal studies with a pre-law concentration. Christian has worked previously with the NC State University College Advising Corps, assisting students in rural NC to access post-secondary education opportunities.

CAREER Navigator

As a CAREER Navigator with GuilfordWorks’ CAREER Connections, Carollee assists individuals in preparing for careers and becoming self-sufficient in the community. She started her career in the non-profit field in 2017 and quickly realized her passion for serving individuals. She has a Business Management Degree and a Human Resources Certificate from The University of Phoenix.

Mobile Career Center Driver & Operator

Todd has over 25 years of customer service and hospitality experience. He enjoys working with the public and reaching underserved communities with the MCC. However, most of all, Todd sincerely appreciates the gratitude he receives from MCC customers who are seeking to re-enter the workforce or advance their careers.

Irving serves in a variety of capacities here at GuilfordWorks. It’s obvious that he loves what he does because he is always anxious to pitch in wherever needed and ready to do the things that the rest of us can’t. Irving has been with us for years and aspires to continue growing in every aspect.
