Meet Our Board Members

With over 20 years of Workforce Development experience, Karen McIntosh came to the NCWorks Career Center – Greensboro in September of 2019.  She currently serves as the Center Manager for the NCWorks Career Centers in Greensboro and High Point.

Before serving the NCWorks Career Center in Guilford County, Ms. McIntosh served in five other NCWorks Career Centers (previously known as the Employment Security Commission or Job Link Centers), progressing from front-line staff to management.  Having served under the direction of four Workforce Development Boards, which include Centralina Works, Charlotte Works, Western Piedmont and Gaston Works, she gained valuable knowledge of the mechanisms of each board.

While in her previous position as the manager of the NCWorks Career Center in Statesville, she had the opportunity to serve on the boards of the Iredell Human Resources Association, Iredell Economic Development Corporation, Goodwill Business Advisory Committee, Iredell Career and Technical Advisory Board, Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce and Statesville Housing Authority, for over 11 years.  Ms. McIntosh was also integral to personal site visits by potential employers to the Iredell County area by providing labor market information and presentations.

Ms. McIntosh’s prior experience in workforce development, personal experience in the career centers, and observations of workforce board operations allow for a well-rounded understanding of workforce development.

 As an appointed WDB Member, Karen would serve as a public sector representative, representing Wagner-Peyser services, as mandated under WIOA.
