Meet Our Board Members

Dr. Holly Pore is the new Executive Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Guilford County Schools (GCS). She is a native of Greensboro, graduating from Western Guilford High School. Dr. Pore is an accomplished educator with 19 years of service as a CTE teacher, Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinator (CIMC), and CTE Director. As an esteemed educator, she was Teacher of the Year, National Boards Teacher Certification recipient, and the Southwest Regional CIMC of the Year. As CTE Director of Rowan-Salisbury Schools, Dr. Pore led the district to the Top 10 in industry-recognized credentials earned by students for two consecutive years. She created a state-registered preapprenticeship/ apprenticeship program wherein a pre-apprentice from the program received the ApprenticeshipNC Outstanding Registered Pre-Apprentice 2022 Award and most recently state-registered the first ever youth apprenticeship program, Student Opportunities for Apprenticeship Readiness (SOAR), sponsored by Guilford County Schools, Career and Technical Education. She is a strong instructional leader and labors to empower students through career exposure, career exploration, and authentic career experiences. Dr. Pore earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and Marketing from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Supervision, and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership-Superintendency, both from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
