GuilfordWorks and ChooseU offer an MT-1 manufacturing course for Guilford County residents. You’ll get hands-on training, employer connections, and support to move into stable, in-demand roles.

You’ll learn core production skills (measurement, safety, quality, manufacturing technology), build problem-solving and teamwork, and practice on real equipment. The program includes resume and interview support, hiring events, and a paid work experience.

What to expect (cohort 1)

Training phase: December 1, 2025 to January 23, 2026, in person in Greensboro, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm

Paid work experience: January 26 to February 27, 2026, placement with a local employer

Commitment: weekday daytime hours; consistent attendance is required

Requirements needed to apply

  • Guilford County resident, 18 or older

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Registered with Selective Service (males)

  • Must meet income requirements*

  • Able to pass the MT-1 pre-assessment

* Income eligibility is determined during the application review (also called eligibility screening/enrollment appointment) and may consider household size, SNAP participation, and available funding; documentation is required.
