Cathryn, a mother of two, visited the NCWorks Career Center looking for an immediate work opportunity. She also wanted to continue her education to further her career. She was able to quickly find work with the help of the NCWorks Career Center staff. Although she originally applied for a cooking position, the employer spotted her background in early childhood development and hired her, using an On-the-Job-Training (OJT) grant through NCWorks, for a lead teaching position. Cathryn is still pursuing her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) certification. Who knows where she’ll go from here?
